What limits a gamer?
The one thing that limits a gamer the most is, of course, money. But if a gamer had an unlimited amount of money what exactly would he or she spend it on. The answer you would think is quite obvious and one might assume they would spend it on games. While that is true, it is more so that gamers spend more money on objects that enhance gaming experience rather than the game itself. For example, one might buy surround sound noise cancelling headphones that cost ~$200 for a game that costs around $60. This also varies based on what platform someone games on.
There is console gaming, and there is PC Gaming.

Consoles
The consoles are the more remedial, and casual side of the gaming platforms available, although serious gamers play console as well. The two console series are the Xbox and the PlayStation 4 produced by the companies Microsoft and Sony respectively. The two platforms perform similarly, yet interface preferences and controller types differ between platforms. People in the gaming culture take high loyalty to their console and console manufacturer almost as if a civil war between the two sides. The constant argument rages on as to which platform is overall better, although as of recently with the release of the PlayStation 4, many more people have been shifting to PlayStation's platform.
Another limitation seen here is the type of games that can be played on either platform. Console gamers cannot play games that are strictly for PC such as League of Legends or World of Warcraft. And people on Xbox cannot play some games exclusive to PlayStation and vice versa. It can be assumed that the consoles are the most limited of the platforms.

PC's
A PC is a personal computer and there are several variations of Personal Computers based on their operating system. It is important to know that all things games run on are considered computers as they all computer information in order for a game to be played, even consoles such as the Xbox or the PlayStation. People who play games on a PC and use any other operating system other than Windows are usually considered to be quite strange, or lower quality players.
The PC is a lot less limited of a platform for gamers. While some games are console exclusive, more games can be played on the PC than any other console alone. These games can also be modified from the PC, unlike the console, to fit what the player wants to do in their game. Most people would prefer a PC to a console of course, and more serious gamers are also found on the PC and not the console. The limitation here is the price of a high performance PC that can run the games people want to play at the appropriate settings. A good gaming PC can range from $500 all the way up to $5,000 without accessories.
