What is MLG?
MLG is the abbreviation of the Major League Gaming program in which players can compete in specific games to win cash prizes among other things. People compete for titles, bragging rights, new consoles, and at times even high performance computers.
WHy MLG?
MLG is relatively new to the gaming world. People really enjoy watching it because they can relate to their love for games and skill in the game by seeing the best of the best compete for fame, glory, and wealth in the gaming world. People who win MLG events are highly skilled, and this achievement acts as a medal that accomodates their high level of skill, their dedication, and hard work they have put forth to be so fluent in a game.
Who plays? What is played?
Teams put together from online relationships over games, or people who know each other in reality, or anybody a team can put together that contains the appropriate skill needed to compete at a professional level. These teams have names, and the best teams are even sponsored by big companies such as Intel or AMD. Certain games might require teams, other games might require duos or single people to compete competitively. In the individual's case they will be known by their gamertag, or, online identification name.
